Listen to the track HERE.

In 2021, Joey Cool joined forces with Tech N9ne, King Iso, and the legendary Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the biggest independent rap song of that year, "Face Off." Its success would be downright unprecedented, birthing a TikTok challenge and amassing over13 billion views! The track has crushed nearly 160 million Spotify streams so far with 71 million views on the blockbuster music video. The track saw him mentioned by everyone from Variety to Entertainment Weekly.

MORE INFO:

Joey Cool consistently levels up as a lyricist, songwriter, storyteller, and force. The Kansas City rapper deliberately pushes himself forward with each subsequent release. At first, he popped off as a local favorite in Kansas City before featuring on Tech N9ne’s “Life Sentences” from 2015’s chart-topping Special Effects. He also lent his fiery flows to Ces Cru’s “Off The Hook” from the Recession Proof EP. He joined forces with Burna Music on Swank Sinatra in 2016 followed by his self-titled solo debut, Joey Cool, in 2018—which HipHopDX awarded a 4.0-out-of-5.0 score and crowned “a hidden gem. On its heels, his sophomore set, Old Habits Die Hard, arrived a year later to growing enthusiasm from fans. After gathering millions of streams and receiving love from HipHopDX, The Hype Magazine, and more, he progressed to a new plane altogether with his 2020 third full-length offering, Coolie High [Strange Music]. He spoke on the album, saying, “When you listen to this, I want you to be able to tell the music I was making was clearly something I was going through,” he leaves off. “It’s no bullshit; it’s some real and raw in-your-face music. I’m pretty direct. I went through a lot of personal challenges, toxic relationships, and people who shouldn’t have been trusted with my career and life this year. At the same time, I graduated from it. That’s what you’re hearing.”

In the end, Joey never stops evolving, and he’s taking hip-hop with him.
