Blak-Ram just dropped "No More Tears (Sudan)" which is an emotional song about the war in Sudan (that has reportedly claimed 150,000 lives), the toll the war has had on ordinary Sudanese citizens lives and the unspeakable horrors that they have witnessed and experienced.
The majority of the song documents the widespread atrocities perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces including systematic rape, torture destruction of and genocide but also addresses the Sudanese Army’s failures to protect civilians, indiscriminate bombing, blocking aid and arming of militias.
The song also endorses the right to armed resistance with women taking up arms to protect themselves from sexual violence. The message is to stand up and fight against the RSF and to call out the countries that are arming them. The song contains an emotional hook from an anonymous artist that really touches your soul with a soft piano melody that empathises the sadness of the track and tries to get you to feel what sudanese civilians are going through everyday. Blak-Ram's own family got displaced and several of his relatives are stuck in difficult circustances both in Sudan and aboad. Sudan has been described as the forgotten war
with what could possibly be the worst humantarian crisis in the world right now with 2 million children at severe risk of starvation.
The visuals for the song are available on YouTube and match the song’s lyrics word by word they are difficult to watch but necessary to understand what sudanese people are going through as always there are a list of charities to help the sudanese people in the video’s description and credits.
